The Edohigan Cherry Earrings

A design about the story of the Edohigan cherry blossoms ( 江戸彼岸桜 ), which have lived in the mountainous regions in Japan for hundreds and thousands of years.

Hand carved mother-of-pearl flowers in whispering pink and ivory are used to reinterpret the Edohigan’s delicate pale pink blossoms which fades into almost white as they reach full bloom. 

A dreamy and gentle colour palette. This design emphasises the inherent luminescence of mother-of-pearl and baroque pearl elements, carrying strength in serenity, just like the tale of these cherry trees.
